Pruning a Big Oak, Guy

T Gun and his wily ground guy prune this majestic oak to a healthier and more handsome form.

Domination

Me and T Gun had to dominate a bunch of birch today.  Mind you, a lovely day.  But a new moon was upon me this morning when I strafed into my stand and discovered that a mature whitetail buck is possibly using the hunting grounds as its own personal sleeping bag.

Matty Reefs on a Musk

Much to my chagrin, there was an unfortunate insident that occured just after this footage that is simply too painful to relive, and thus, reveal to the world.  Talk to my brother if you would like to know the happenings of these events.  Vilas Co. WI

Have you ever heard of the term grouse fever? It's real. I know, I have it.

A Likely Fate

How unfortunate for this now deseased bird to cross paths with an alert sportsman. Gillman, WI.

T-Bone Slay

A robust NP with near perfect aim.

Late Night Albino Fun

A classic albino whitetail deer sighting up here in the Northwoods. The textbooks fail to explain the flurry of albino deer between Boulder Junction and the Rez. I figure the amount of manliness dispayed regularly scares these poor quadpeds to turn old very fast like.

Taylor County Greaser

Last weekend was Grousathon '11 at the Klinner cabin, aka 'Timberdoodle Lodge and Convention Center'. Nine grouse, four woodcock, and one fawn all failed to survive. The gentleman to the left is much pleased.

Aerial Arborist: White Pine Removal With Zip Line

I work for my buddy Tom Lentz, he's an arborist and a bad ass tree climber. We frequently have to use our brains to conquer precarious jobs. Last Friday, the owner wanted his fragile plants beneath the tree he wanted removed to be unharmed, and they were, because Tom interjected an ingenious zip line.

The Rig

I have a healthy obsession for adventure. Aided by maps, tobacco, and a sturdy supply of testosterone, I do things like row troll for muskies, but not just anywhere; on class A waters with no documented access points.

Soaking Suckers is Awesome

I will start off my new blog with a bit of heart pounding muskie action.  The waters have cooled into the upper 50's here in Northern Wisconsin, which means soaking big, live suckers is ideal because the suckers live forever, well...until they get crushed by monster muskies.  In this video I have two rigs off the back of the boat, one out further with a bobber, and one nearer the boat without a bobber.  If you look closely, you can actually see the muskie t-bone the sucker behind the boat.  I proceed to set the hook as hard as humanly possible, and the result - a dandy of a muskie in the boat.
